Give a safe contact methodUse only the contact information you are comfortable making public. Avoid posting sensitive personal or financial information.

Review the rulesListings involving prohibited, unsafe, misleading or regulated items will not be accepted.
Tell NJTGO when it is no longer activeRemove sold items, cancelled notices and completed events promptly so the marketplace stays useful.

What to Include in a Good Listing

Clear HeadlineUse a short, specific description such as “Solid Wood Dining Table” rather than a vague title.
ConditionDisclose damage, missing parts, known defects or repair needs rather than surprising the buyer at pickup.
PriceState a firm price, asking price, “best reasonable offer” or “free” rather than using misleading bait pricing.
Pickup DetailsExplain whether an item needs multiple people, a truck, disassembly or special handling.
PhotosWhen enhanced posting options are available, current photos should show the actual item rather than a catalog image.
ExpirationInclude an event date, sale date or reasonable expiration date when the posting is time-sensitive.

Roommates & Shared Housing

Roommate notices should describe the room or shared space, approximate location, rent, utilities, deposit, lease length, household expectations and move-in timing without using discriminatory preferences prohibited by fair-housing law.

Fair housing: NJTGO does not accept housing advertisements that unlawfully discriminate based on protected characteristics. Housing-specific property advertising belongs on the Barnegat Real Estate page.

Official Notices & Public Information

NJTGO community notices can complement—but should never replace—official Township publications. For ordinances, resolutions, property-sale notices, municipal advisories, meetings and other official information, use the Township's current public resources.
