A city built around history, commerce and the Pine Barrens

Egg Harbor City was planned in the 1850s by German-American investors as a South Jersey community and commercial center. The city's German language and cultural traditions shaped local churches, businesses, architecture and winemaking for generations. Today that history is visible in the street grid, neighborhood institutions and the collections of the Egg Harbor City Historical Society.
