About Glen Gardner
Glen Gardner developed along Spruce Run and the railroad corridor. The community was once known as Eveland's Tavern; industrial growth and the Gardner family helped shape the settlement that became Glen Gardner. The borough was incorporated in 1919 from portions of Bethlehem and Lebanon townships.

Rail transportation, mills and small-scale industry helped establish Glen Gardner as a distinct village in the Spruce Run valley. The Gardner brothers' frame and perforated-seat business was influential enough that the community adopted the Gardner name in the nineteenth century.
