History & Historic Places
Ironmaking shaped High Bridge long before the modern borough. Union Iron Works began in the 18th century, and later Taylor iron-and-steel operations became central to local employment, land use and architecture. The railroad bridge that crossed the valley helped give the community its name.

The historic property is associated with the Union Forge era and Revolutionary War history. Borough historical programming includes open houses and property tours.
