Rockaway Township's dining scene reflects the Township itself: one part major regional destination and one part dispersed local community. Around Rockaway Townsquare and Mount Hope Road, visitors find full-service restaurants, sports bars, fast-casual chains, cafés and mall dining. Farther north, Green Pond Road supports neighborhood diners, bagels, delis, pizza and one of the Township's best-known local bar-and-grill destinations.

The local-food side of the Township: diner breakfasts, bagels, deli food, pizza and a full-service bar-and-grill serving residents north of I-80.
The southern Township includes grocery/prepared-food shopping and casual dining with some properties using a Dover postal address despite being inside Rockaway Township.
The private lake community has clubhouse and catered-event food service for members and guests, but it should not be confused with an ordinary public restaurant district.
Why the current list looks different: The restaurant market around Rockaway Townsquare has changed substantially over time. NJTGO is using current mall directories, restaurant locations and recent operating information rather than preserving former food-court and plaza tenants simply because they appeared on an older directory.

White Meadow Lake's annual summer celebration features food vendors and community activities, but event access and parking rules can differ from ordinary public festivals.
