Visiting & Lodging
Rocky Hill is a quiet historic village best experienced on a small scale: preserved streets, neighborhood parks, notable restaurants and easy access to the Delaware & Raritan Canal corridor.
What to See & Do
Historic Preservation District
Walk portions of Washington Street and nearby historic streets to see the borough’s preserved residential and village architecture. Respect private property.
Borough Parks
Borough Hall Park, Panicaro Park, Point Park and shared Van Horne Park provide local recreation and green space.
D&R Canal Area
The nearby Delaware & Raritan Canal towpath offers walking and bicycling opportunities through the Rocky Hill/Kingston corridor.
Dining Stop
Rocky Hill’s compact downtown includes destination dining and coffee, making it easy to pair a short historic visit with a meal.
Getting Here
County Route 518 is the borough’s main east-west road. Route 206 lies just west in Montgomery Township, while Route 27 and Kingston are east of Rocky Hill. Princeton is nearby but is a separate municipality.
Lodging
Rocky Hill does not have a significant hotel inventory. Visitors will find more lodging in nearby Princeton-area communities and along major corridors outside the borough. NJTGO does not label those properties as Rocky Hill hotels simply because they market themselves to the area.
Good to Know
- Rocky Hill is highly walkable in its historic core, but surrounding commercial destinations generally require a car or bicycle.
- Most homes and historic buildings are private property.
- Park hours are generally sunrise to sunset, and dogs must be leashed.
- Check borough announcements for current events and the evolving status of the Mary Jacobs Memorial Library property.
