About Delaware Township
Delaware Township was incorporated in 1838 from the former Amwell Township. Its landscape stretches from the Hunterdon Plateau toward the Amwell Valley and Delaware River, combining working farms, preserved open space, historic hamlets and low-density residential areas.
Sergeantsville sits near the township center and contains the municipal building, public school, general store and historic village core. Rosemont and Locktown add their own rural character and historic resources.

Green Sergeant's Covered Bridge
Delaware Township's signature landmark spans the Wickecheoke Creek between Sergeantsville and Rosemont. It is New Jersey's lone surviving historic covered bridge.
