Northvale is a small Northern Valley borough on Bergen County's border with Rockland County, New York. It is best approached as a local-community stop and regional base: spend time at Northvale's parks, library, community events and dining spots, then continue minutes north or east to Revolutionary War history, Hudson River scenery and larger nature preserves.
Because Northvale has no substantial conventional hotel district, overnight visitors generally stay nearby in Orangeburg, Pearl River, Park Ridge or Montvale and drive into the borough.
Northvale is not a traditional tourist town, but it has several worthwhile community stops and makes a practical starting point for exploring the New Jersey–New York border area.
