Brick Township
Brick is one of Ocean County's largest communities, combining established mainland neighborhoods, major shopping and service corridors, river and bay access, extensive parks and recreation, and three municipal oceanfront beach properties on the barrier island.
From Windward Beach and Brick Reservoir to the Metedeconk River, Trader's Cove and the township's Route 35 ocean beaches, Brick offers a mix of year-round suburban life and classic Jersey Shore recreation.

Brick Township at a Glance
Waterfront, Beaches & the Barrier Island
Water is one of Brick's defining features. The township includes extensive frontage along the Metedeconk River, Barnegat Bay and connected lagoons, plus municipal oceanfront properties on the barrier island east of the mainland.
Parks, Trails & Outdoor Recreation
Brick's recreation system stretches well beyond the oceanfront. Neighborhood parks, athletic complexes, trails, fishing locations, playgrounds and preserved open space are distributed throughout the township.
Brick Township History
Brick Township was created in 1850, the same year Ocean County was established. The township was named for Joseph W. Brick, owner of the Bergen Iron Works on the Metedeconk River. Early Brick was much larger than today's municipality and once included territory that later became several neighboring shore communities.
