Englishtown is a compact historic borough in western Monmouth County, completely surrounded by Manalapan Township. Main Street, Tennent Avenue, Wilson Avenue and the blocks around Lake Weamaconk give the borough its own walkable center despite the much larger “Englishtown” mailing area around it.

Boundary note: The 07726 postal area extends well beyond Englishtown Borough. NJTGO uses municipal boundaries for local listings, so Route 9 businesses and other Manalapan locations are not treated as Englishtown businesses simply because their mailing address says Englishtown.

Historic center

The Village Inn at 2 Water Street dates to the colonial era and is one of Englishtown’s signature historic places. The borough’s Main Street corridor also preserves the scale of an older central New Jersey village.

Parks & water

Sanford Memorial Park and Lake Weamaconk are local anchors maintained through borough public works services. They provide a quieter counterpoint to Main Street and the commercial blocks nearby.
