Classifieds & Community Marketplace
Riverdale Classifieds is designed for community-scale buying and selling, wanted and free items, garage and yard sales, local notices, lost-and-found posts, pet notices, lessons, roommate notices and celebrations.
Employment openings, full property advertising and recurring business promotion belong on Riverdale's dedicated Jobs, Real Estate and Business pages rather than in the general classifieds feed.

Garage & yard sales
NJTGO did not verify a current Riverdale ordinance stating that an ordinary private residential garage or yard sale requires a specific municipal garage-sale permit. That means this page does not invent a permit fee, annual limit or sale-duration rule.
Before a sale, confirm any current signage, parking, noise, property-use or temporary-event rules with Borough Hall.
Do not block driveways, fire hydrants, sidewalks or traffic lanes. Be especially mindful on smaller residential streets and streets with permit-parking rules.
Temporary directional signs should never be placed where prohibited and should be removed immediately after the sale.
Official notices, bids & legal information
Riverdale maintains an official municipal notice system separate from community classifieds. The borough's notice portal includes current and archived employment notices, bids, requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and other official postings.
Municipal notices and other formal borough postings appear through the official Riverdale notice system.
Procurement opportunities, license bids, professional-service requests and related government notices are published through official channels.
Mayor and Council, Planning/Zoning Board and other municipal notices are posted through the borough's government pages and archives.
Lost pets, dogs & animal-related notices
Riverdale requires dogs to be kept under control and maintains local dog and cat licensing through the Borough Clerk. The borough also reminds owners to remove pet waste promptly.
For a public-safety issue, aggressive animal, animal in a dangerous roadway situation or other urgent local concern, call Riverdale Police at 973-835-0034. Emergencies: 911.
The Borough Clerk provides the current dog and cat license application. Licensing helps connect pets with owners and supports rabies-vaccination compliance.
Include a recent photo, approximate location, time last seen, distinctive markings and safe contact method without exposing unnecessary personal information.
Marketplace & scam safety
Use a well-lit public location when practical, particularly when meeting someone you do not know.
Do not publish Social Security numbers, banking details, full identity documents or unnecessary private household information.
For vehicles, electronics and higher-value items, confirm ownership and serial/title information before completing a transaction.
Be suspicious of overpayment checks, gift-card requests, cryptocurrency demands and buyers who insist on unusual refund arrangements.
Describe condition, defects, dimensions and other material facts accurately and use current photographs when a listing is posted.
Do not send money to a caller claiming you must pay immediately to avoid arrest. Verify any law-enforcement claim independently.
