About Riverton

Riverton sits along the Delaware River between Palmyra and Cinnaminson in western Burlington County. Its scale is one of its defining features: homes, schools, churches, the library, station, neighborhood businesses, riverfront streets and Memorial Park are all close together.

Historic village character

The Riverton Historic District contains more than 500 structures and preserves the core of the planned suburb developed by the Riverton Improvement Company beginning in 1851.

Main & Broad Streets

The borough's commercial core mixes small professional offices, personal services, cafés, restaurants, specialty shops and the River LINE station.

Delaware River setting

Bank Avenue, the yacht club area and nearby residential streets give Riverton a strong riverfront identity, while visitors should respect private property and posted access rules.

Cemetery note

No standalone cemetery was identified within Riverton Borough. Cemetery properties using a Riverton 08077 mailing address may actually be in neighboring Cinnaminson, so municipal location should be checked before listing them as Riverton.

Surrounding Communities

Riverton directly adjoins Palmyra and Cinnaminson. A Riverton mailing address does not always mean a property lies inside Riverton Borough, particularly along Route 130 and Riverton Road. NJTGO uses the municipality—not the postal city—to decide where a listing belongs.
