Seacrest Beach is a small private family shore community in the northern barrier-island section of Toms River Township. Since 1954, generations of homeowners, renters and guests have returned for its private Atlantic beach, surfing, guarded swimming, summer traditions and relaxed neighborhood atmosphere.
Seacrest Beach is one of the compact private shore communities that make up Dover Beaches North on the Barnegat Peninsula. Many local addresses use Lavallette, NJ 08735, but Seacrest is part of Toms River Township in Ocean County.
Seacrest is primarily residential. Instead of a boardwalk or downtown business district, its identity centers on private lanes, shore houses, beach access, family activities and the Atlantic Ocean. Route 35 provides quick access to nearby restaurants, beach shops, markets and Lavallette's larger commercial area.
Seacrest Beach Club describes Seacrest as a small private family beach community established in 1954. Its organization is supported by a volunteer Board of Governors and community committees, helping maintain the beach, roads, grounds and seasonal traditions.
Seacrest's small scale and closely spaced homes create a neighborhood-oriented shore experience rather than a large resort atmosphere.
Families return year after year, with homeowners, renters, guests and younger generations participating in summer activities and beach life.
Seacrest's internal streets and private lanes contribute to its distinctive residential feel. The community speed limit is 10 mph.
Seacrest Beach Club maintains its own private Atlantic beach for members, guests and authorized renters. The association currently lists lifeguard hours as 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, seven days a week during the summer months.
Swimmers should remain within the area designated by the beach's colored-flag system and follow lifeguard instructions.
The north end of the beach is designated for surfing when weather and water conditions permit.
The Seacrest Beach Club website provides a live beach camera and current ocean-condition information.
Seacrest is small, but its Beach Club maintains an active seasonal calendar. The 2026 calendar included events such as the Crabman Memorial Volleyball Tournament, Sand Castle Contest, children's activities, the Seacrest Beach Bash, Kites & Cosmos, and junior and adult lifeguard tournaments.
Sandcastle contests, treasure hunts and children's events help make Seacrest especially family-oriented.
Volleyball and lifeguard tournaments bring friendly competition and community participation to the beach.
Seasonal beach parties and kite events extend community life beyond swimming hours.
Most overnight visitors stay in privately owned vacation homes rather than hotels inside Seacrest. Rental homes range from traditional shore cottages to larger renovated or ocean-oriented properties.
Seacrest does not have a restaurant district of its own. The most convenient food choices are along nearby Route 35 and in Lavallette. Listings below are identified as nearby rather than presented as businesses physically inside Seacrest.

Seacrest's real estate is defined by its private-community setting, ocean proximity and mix of traditional shore cottages and rebuilt or elevated homes. Buyers should evaluate both the house and the community obligations that come with the property.
Because Seacrest is a small community, NJTGO keeps its classifieds directly on this page rather than maintaining a separate classifieds section.
Appropriate local listings can include shore-house furnishings, bicycles, beach equipment, garage sales, lost-and-found notices, community announcements and wanted items.
