744 US-206, Shamong. A major Wharton State Forest gateway with lake swimming when lifeguards are on duty, picnicking, trails, paddling access, family campsites and cabins.
The preserved Atsion Mansion and surrounding historic landscape tell the story of an early South Jersey iron and industrial settlement at the northern end of Wharton State Forest.
Wharton State Forest primitive camping area off Atsion Road with walk-in sites, potable water and pit toilets. Camping requires a permit/reservation.
