Township character

South Harrison Township was incorporated on March 2, 1883 from Harrison Township. Harrisonville has long served as the community center, while much of the township remains agricultural and low-density.

The township describes itself as a community of more than 3,000 residents with a strong agricultural history that it continues to preserve. State Route 45 and county roads connect the township with Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Woodstown and other South Jersey communities.

Agricultural identity: South Harrison recognizes farming as an important part of its local economy and landscape. Visitors should expect active farm traffic, seasonal farm markets and agritourism throughout the year.
