South Brunswick is more spread out than a traditional downtown destination, but it offers substantial parks and trails, Revolutionary-era history, Kingston's historic setting, a diverse dining scene and convenient Route 1 lodging near Princeton.

A car is useful for most visits because attractions and commercial areas are distributed across more than 41 square miles.

Getting around

Driving

US 1, NJ 27, US 130 and local east-west roads connect the township's widely separated communities.

Park & Ride

The township identifies the Route 32/Route 130 Park & Ride for bus connections to multiple Manhattan destinations.

Rail

There is no NJ TRANSIT rail station inside South Brunswick. Jersey Avenue and Princeton Junction are among the nearby Northeast Corridor options.

Build a local day

Morning: Walk a section of the Freedom Trail or visit Beech Woods / Davidson's Mill Pond Park.

Lunch: Choose the Route 27/Kendall Park corridor for a broad mix of South Asian, Asian, pizza, cafés and other dining.

Afternoon: Explore Kingston, the D&R Canal area or Woodlot Park depending on weather and interests.
