About Warren Township
Warren Township is a predominantly residential Somerset County community characterized by wooded neighborhoods, preserved open space, local farms and garden centers, school campuses, commercial clusters along Mountain Boulevard and Washington Valley Road, and a significant business corridor near I-78. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated 17,753 residents in 2025, up from 15,923 at the 2020 Census.
Unlike a traditional compact downtown, Warren’s activity is distributed among several neighborhood shopping and office areas. That makes accurate addresses and municipal boundaries especially important: nearby Watchung, Green Brook, Long Hill, Berkeley Heights, Basking Ridge and Martinsville are separate communities and are not treated as Warren listings on NJTGO.

Future district planning
As of September 2026, the K–8 district has recommended an intermediate-school model that would reorganize grade configurations, but the Board had not yet taken final action. Families should use the district’s current information rather than assuming a future configuration is already in effect.

Codington Farmstead
The preserved landscape was cultivated before 1742 and remained agricultural for generations before Warren acquired it for preservation in 1998.

Commuting & getting around
I-78 provides Warren’s primary regional highway access, with I-287, Route 22 and surrounding Somerset/Morris/Union County employment areas within easy driving reach. Warren also operates a resident-focused Park & Ride pilot at Warren Corporate Center, 300 Warren Corporate Center Drive, with weekday Lakeland express bus service to New York City under the township’s current 2026 program.
