About Woodcliff Lake
The reservoir is the borough’s visual centerpiece, but Woodcliff Lake is more than its water views. It is a mature suburban community with tree-lined streets, larger-lot single-family neighborhoods, a regional rail station, major recreation facilities and several business and office areas.
Woodcliff Lake School District serves students through grade 8; high-school students attend Pascack Hills High School in Montvale.
School DistrictWoodcliff Lake Station is on NJ TRANSIT’s Pascack Valley Line, while the Garden State Parkway provides regional highway access.

The borough was incorporated under the name Woodcliff.
The Woodcliff Lake Reservoir was constructed across Pascack Brook, creating the water body that became the community’s defining landmark.
“Lake” was added to the municipal name, creating Woodcliff Lake.
