Roxbury requires a Township garage-sale permit. The current municipal application states that a person or premises may hold no more than two sales within a 12-month period, each sale may last no more than two consecutive calendar days, and sales may be conducted only between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

The Township application says signs may not be placed on telephone poles, trees or property not owned by the applicant, and sale activity may not obstruct traffic or create disorder.

“Solid oak dining table — Succasunna” is more useful than “For sale.”
Include condition, size, age, quantity, model and important defects or missing parts.
Use a community such as Landing or Kenvil rather than publishing an exact home address.
State an asking price, “free,” “wanted,” or whether reasonable offers will be considered.
Provide only the contact method needed to arrange the transaction.
Once an item is sold, found or no longer available, ask NJTGO to remove the listing.
What NJTGO classifieds will not accept
To keep the marketplace appropriate for a local town-guide audience, NJTGO may reject, edit or remove listings that are unsafe, unlawful, deceptive or better suited to another section.

Submitting a Roxbury classified
A useful submission should include a concise title, category, accurate description, general Roxbury community, asking price if applicable and a safe contact method. Yard-sale notices should also include dates, hours and rain information.
Give enough detail for another resident to decide whether the item or notice is relevant.
The listing should have a genuine Roxbury connection and identify one of the Township's communities when helpful.
